As an avid follower of the Sainsbury Choir Of The Year TV competition, it was clear from the first appearance of this Chorale that it was a "no contest" competition. As a member of a choir that in theory topped the bill at a concert LAC shared in, when they sang us off the stage, I should know how good they are! The quality of tone, superb control and perfect interpretation are the hallmarks of a choir at peak power, 28 singers with an impeccable blend of harmony. The programme covers many traditional spirituals of the "Nobody Knows", "I Go To The Rock" and "Give Me Jesus" ilk, but fear not, maestro Ken Burton has sculptured them into stunning new creations. Beautifully recorded, an album to treasure and explore for many years.
