In just 11 years Keith and Kristyn, along with their songwriting partner Stuart Townend, have created some of the Churches best known modern hymns. "In Christ Alone", probably their most popular work and which has touched almost every church domination, starts the album. Others memorable songs here are "Joy Has Dawned" and "Speak O Lord". The style of the album is outlined as "English cathedral style interpretations" and as such are presented as beautiful choral pieces (an avenue Keith pursued in his teenage years). However, for the listener who is not partial to high church music the presence of an organ on all but one track and the elegant choral arrangements may sound a little daunting. I enjoyed this collection and the production is simply beautiful, but I also recognise that it might be an acquired taste.

Product Description

Keith and Kristyn Getty’s names have become intrinsically linked with the modern hymn. Through co-writing with Stuart Townend to produce In Christ Alone, Oh To See The Dawn (The Power Of The Cross) and Speak O Lord, the Gettys have provided the church with songs of substance that will endure for decades.

These twelve tracks offer a perfect introduction to the wealth of Keith and Kristyn Getty’s songwriting. As well as the three songs listed above, the compilation includes O Church Arise, Behold The Lamb and many other modern treasures.
