Love it! Fresh, exciting, vibrant, energetic and so unique! This set of six songs just draws you in from the offset. Southampton-based record producers Chris Taylor and Sanjay Rajo have joined forces to bring to us this EP which features various singers including David Gate and Matt Giles and is available to download free from www.thewaitingline.co.uk. Listeners can, if they so choose, give a donation on the same website to the Great Lakes Outreach, a Burundi-based charity run by missionary Simon Guillebaud. The alt-rock vibe from this collection of songs is so refreshing. With so much Christian music sounding the same these days, this really breaks the mould and leaves you wanting more! I hope they plan to produce more of this type thing, although I get the feeling that this project is ever-evolving and what we would hear next time round would be equally colourful and contagious. The producers themselves reckon 'The Waiting Line' is a blend of MuteMath, Sigur Ros and U2, I personally think it stands in its own unique right. Matt Giles voice on "Resting Place" is superb, so pure with David Gate on "Saving Love" sounding equally great. My only disappointment is that there aren't more songs.
