The band, or at least their management, have labelled Unspoken as "Christian soulful pop rock" while one review recently suggested they were "the best new band to hit the Christian music scene since Sidewalk Prophet." Certainly, this full length debut is crammed with good things. For a start there are the US radio hit songs "Who You Are" and "Lift My Life Up" (originally released on EPs). "Who You Are" is a lilting reminder that one's past does not dictate our future while "Lift My Life Up" is a memorable worshipful anthem sung with real passion by lead singer Chad Mattson. The new songs here, penned by band members, are equally memorable with "Start A Fire" an anthemic call to live out Matthew 5:16 ("Over and over again I hear your voice in my head/Let your light shine, let your light shine for all to see"). 'Unspoken' was produced by Seth Mosley (Newsboys, Francesca Battistelli) with the exception of "Who You Are" which Jason Walker produced. Its classy, radio-friendly sound brings out the quality of the songs so if you're looking for full on ministry music sung with a bit of blue-eyed soul, 'Unspoken' is an exceptional package.
