It seems a good enough concept. Bring into the studio a selection of well known mainstream R&B singers (Freddie Jackson, Peabo Bryson, Regina Belle, melba Moore and others) and get them to sing Christian songs. Tracks featured include "Oh Happy Day" (Edwin Hawkins) sung by Teddy Pendergrass, "Glory To Glory To Glory" (Fred Hammond) sung by Deniece Williams and '80s Shalamar band member Howard Hewett sings "My Redeemer" (Nicole C Mullen). There are some new songs on this project, the dulcet tones of Reuben Studdard grace "Holding On To You Lord", whilst Brian McKnight sings the moving "You're Gonna Make It", and "Young Hearts" written and sung by Maurice White (Earth, Wind & Fire) has his stamp of '70s disco funk. Overall though, the production by British-born David Nathan and America's Peston Glass is decidedly average and whilst some of the songs do showcase expected strong lead vocals too often one feels that considering the wealth of singing talent arrayed here, this doesn't get close to living up to its potential.
