Yet more stories from the Bible - this time the "20 most awesome parables in the Bible" (actually in the Gospels, from which these are exclusively drawn) - with catchy songs to help fix them in the little listeners' minds. (Some biblical scholars might quibble that some of the parables chosen aren't actually parables, and veer more towards aphorisms, but that's a minor criticism.) With all your favourites included - from "The Good Samaritan" to "The Unmerciful Servant" - this disc follows the well-worn formula of a short reading followed by a jolly little song sung by kids for kids. The stated objective on the CD sleeve is "making the Bible relevant and fun". Unfortunately, the music here is way too schmaltzy while the language isn't always the most relevant for the professed target of three to seven year olds. Some youngsters simply won't understand these songs. For those who like to sing along this album is released in the usual Wonder Kids split track format. But there are better albums than this to get the kiddiewinkers singing.
