The idea with this package is to listen to a song each day. Worship, read the reflection, look up the Bible references, think, pray and respond. A "Quiet Time" that begins with music. It's a good way to refresh one's devotional life, assuming you're not too fussy about musical style and substance. As with the other months in this series, the songs are selected from the last two decades of Kingsway's back catalogue. Though it's good to be reminded of some classic Delirious? (from the 'Cutting Edge' era), alongside other favourites from Stuart Townend and Tim Hughes, a large number of the songs are clearly selected for their lyrical content over their musicality or popularity. But that's not a problem for a devotional package. Just don't go giving it to anyone under 25 years old. . . Or anyone who has trouble reading in poor light. Though the reflections and responses are thoughtfully written and contain plenty of helpful insights concerning how to deal with depression, working with weakness, grace, faith, fellowship, creation and restoration, they are printed with low contrast colour-on-colour using a tiny font in a small CD-sized booklet. Perhaps the whole thing should have been done as an audio book. Or an App?

Product Description

The penultimate release in the year-long series contains thirty powerful worship tracks. With Stuart Townend, Delirious?, Tim Hughes, Brenton Brown and many more represented, November’s Worship Devotional is every bit as great an album as the previous ten releases in the series.

As ever the album contains a devotional booklet, matching each track with thought-provoking text, prayers and action points to guide the listener. Perfect for the commute, the lunch-time break or the end of day wind-down, Worship Devotional has been a great series that has inspired many.
