Best known today as a worship focused website and compilation-CD marque, the genesis of Worship Together was as a magazine published by Kingsway up until the turn-of-the-century. The magazine's particular USP was that each issue featured sheet music and chord charts for a new song by an up-and-coming writer. Appropriate then that Worship Together should choose to gather some of the classic songs from that period into a single volume. And a fine collection they are. The claim that they represent "20 songs that launched modern worship" while appearing overreaching is fully justified on a first glance at the contents page. . . "Beautiful Saviour", "Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble", "God Of Wonders", "I Will Offer Up My Life", "Let Everything That Has Breath", "Once Again", "We Want To See Jesus Lifted High". . . Each song is in equal parts familiar and essential - a worship classic. The book sets them out in both stave and chord sheet format and these are repeated as PDFs on the included CD Rom (along with OHP masters and plain text lyric files). This selection of tunes genuinely represents a modern worship greatest hits collection and could well be an essential purchase for any worship leader or worshipper.
