Be genuine and real. This is a place to worship God by giving up in prayer the sin and struggles, attitudes and apathy that are in your life. Put them in the incinerator to be burnt to ashes by God.

Masturbation & Pornography

I have been struggling with an additiction to internet pornagraphy & masturbation for quite a number of years, even though I am a christian and love God with all my heart. I pray for strength to say no, but when it happens I'm always left feeling torn with guilt & shame, and wondering how God could love someone like me. I don't want to give in, but I feel so shackled. Even when I come home from church or small group and have just experienced an amazing time with God, the temptation can still sneak up. Please pray that God will take these desires away and set me free from this bondage. Father, forgive me for this sin...... Steven

Steven you are a guy and you struggle with what every guy struggles with. It is human. Jesus understands that. He understands that we have all fallen short and that we can only survive if we look to Him. Matey, believe me HE UNDERSTANDS and HE KNOWS YOUR HEART. Be strong and keep getting down on your knees and meeting with Jesus. He wants to meet with you. May the Lord bless you and look after you for ever and ever AMEN

Masturbation & Pornography

Hello Brother, First know that there is grace to help and as intense and unmanageable as this may seem, the Lord offers a way of escape. I found myself in a similar situation realizing that after coming to know the Lord, I still had issues that seemed to contradict what I knew had taken place inside me. Believe it or not, we all know it in some form or fashion. I discovered this scripture that brought me comfort and direction - No longer be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…Rom 12:2. I came to understand that I still had a mind that needed to be renewed, transformed, in addition to what had happen in my heart. At this point I began to identify mental and physical stimuli that triggered certain worldly or carnal (and yes sinful) responses in me. I found that it was a matter of taking personal responsibility for what I gazed upon, listened to, massaged or savored inside my mind. Those things that did not line up with who I now was - a born-again, spirit filled, blood bought believer. That is what I am no matter what others or the enemy or myself may think or say. So I began to take inventory of what I did in the way of TV viewing, internet activity, music, interaction with other people that I come in contact with and I repented toward God for those things that did not line up with his word. I took personal responsibility for my actions. This will require an honest appraisal of your day to day activities. Stay away from that which starts you on that downward spiral. The enemy will assault your mind when you begin and you may fail at times. But get up and as hard as it truly is, fight against the easy path of self pity and remorse. It will only fuel a tendency to continue in the behavior. Lastly, stay in the word that tells you who you truly are “in Christ” and never give up, because His grace is sufficient - for you. Steven 23 Jan

Dear Lord, Thank you for your beloved son Steven. Steven means the crowned one. Stephen in the bible was the first maryter for Jesus...he looked up to heaven and saw God's glory...today it is hard to see God's glory and all the wonderful plans he has for us in our lives. If we could no one would ever sin. Steven to sin in this way is no worse than any other sin. Yes it is not good to sin. But you know Jesus will strengthen you to resist this temptation but you have to step out in faith and take the first practical steps at the same time. Look go buy a child's security programme to screen the internet for you, this way if you are tempted you can not access these sites. Delete everything you have and then if you can bear it speak to a trusted friend who will help you to be accountable. If not then be honest with yourself, you know you must be willing to take the first step. I am not here to condemn you NO, I know that satan sends many temptations to us, but you know there is always a way out. You must try to step back from your feelings that are ruling you and look at the problems as if you were teaching a child, I mean you would look at it and understand straight away to say ...stop a child cutting themselves on a sharp knife = you remove the knife. So go do that, but also I wish to add you need to watch your tv viewing and discern what it is safe to watch for today everything is sold with sex...or sex is such a large area of the story lines in films. So again be wise. Look if Jesus was sitting next to you would you watch it? My dear brother in Christ thank you for being so very open and honest. God loves his children to be this way and know that you need his help. This is overcomeable, my friend. Be encouraged. God bless. Eve X

At the door

Hi Steven, Christ says he stands at the door and knocks, and if anyone welcomes him he will come in. Compare that to what God says about sin: it crouches at the door of the heart, but we must master it. God is a gentleman, he will not overrule your free choice, but sin is crafty and sneaky, so God will give you the strength and discipline not to use the net, or to use it sparingly and not lead yourself into danger. God will never tempt anyone, that's not his character, but he will uphold you and give you an option to get out when it gets tough. You will have dominion over your body and your desires, you will have the stength to say no in the name of Jesus because He lives in you. I pray that your choices will be directed by God, and that you will be transformed by the renewing of your mind. When you are overwhelmed lift up your eyes, focus on Him, that is where your help comes from. He will not let your foot slip, and he does not slumber or sleep but is always on hand to help you. Choose who to open the door to. May God bless you for your faith in him, may his face shine upon you and give you peace. Amen.
