Original Prayer

It's difficult returning to the Christian faith as an adult...when I was a child I understood little of Scriptures, of the church - all that was required of me was to accept without question. My faith was that of a child, and a distracted one at that. Coming back as an adult, I have so many questions, so many doubts - I need to comprehend more deeply everything I experience. All my life cynicism and doubt have sullied my acceptance of many things, not just spiritual matters. Help me to learn that true Faith is about acceptance and surrender, laying aside my own selfish doubts and the pride of thinking that I should know better. I don't want to argue, but something inside me keeps saying "prove it to me" when I query things. Please help me to be more trusting and less quick to deny those I seek knowledge and instruction from. Bless us all this day x
