Original Prayer

Lord, I was nearly there and i fell again. I know you have infinite grace. You have a ladder sooo massively long you can rescue me from any hole i've dug myself. Lord I call on your name for strength, and protection. Lord i repent of all i have done. I have done some awful things, yet your arms are still open for me. Your grace is boundless, your love knows no limits. Lord its hard, society accepts so much that is wrong, yet with you on my side anything is possible. Help me get through this. Lord I know i am not alone, satan is using sex and porn to try and pull many down. Lord he has no power, for you rule above all. Lord we long for the day when the war will be won, and satan will be cast into the pit. Until then lord, keep me strong, keep my brothers and sisters strong, and may we unite to fight for you. Amen

Brother, You are not the only one; nor are you walking through this alone. I too deal with the same thing. All I can encourage you to do is keep walking with God. As you get closer to the Light, the darkness flees. Just keep walking. That's all I can do or say. Get up and keep pushing!

its a relief to find out that i'm not alone in this, I too suffer from an addiction to porn and especially via the internet. The internet can bring so many good things, this radio station for a start, but it also has the capacity to tempt that harder to resist than going into a shop. I'm listening at work on my break during the night shift. Andy your prayer for Jonathon has brought me to tears i'm so ashamed of the hurt i have caused my father God, but your prayer, aswell as making me cry!, has given me comfort and i pray that God will bless you for the wsidom of your words. God has brought me to this site and to this post for a purpose and I just want to thank you and him for using you in this way.

Jonathan Brother, I can so relate to what you have written. I have been in that place and I know the reality of the fact that temptation is never far away. I have found that one of the things satan uses is that he tells us that we have no power over the sin and that we are hopeless against its power. The fact is that satan can tempt us and take us to the place of sin, but he can never ever make us sin. That choice is one that only we can make, and alas it is one I have made many times in the past. I can remember well the first time I came to realise this fact in my life and can remember saying to myself "he (satan) cant make me do this - its down to me and I am not going to do it." and then calling out to my Father God at the same time "Father help me say no" and He did help me. I so like the illustration used for this prayer room of the guy curled up and saying to himself "No, not again, why did I fall again." But see where he is curled up - if a big pair of loving arms. That is you brother and that is me. We are in the arms of our loving Father. He knows what we are going through when nobody else around us can understand. And you know what, all that we have done doesn't change the way He feels about us one bit - He loves us and always will. He can and does give us the victory over temptation. We already have the power of the Spirit within us and it is there for our use. We though have to make the decision to draw on that power and say to satan "you have no power over me to make me sin - in the name of Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit, I command you to take your temptation and leave me - I will not do it." He has no choice but to go brother - try it and see. And in those times when we fall, when we give in, and believe me I know what that is like, remember the father in the parable of the prodigal son - that is how our Father God is with us. May you know much freedom and victory in the Spirit brother. Sorry if this was a bit long.

Any addiction can take time to beat and porn an't no different from herion or alcohol, God knows your struggles and he will remain faithfull to, keep praying to Him and know that although it might take you a while the battle really is won, the victory belongs to Jesus and Satan has no rights over you my friend anymore. Lord Jesus I want to lift to you Jonathan, I pray Lord that you give him the strength to beat this addiction, break its hold over him in your name Jesus, let him know true feedom, I pray that you will make yourself known to Jonathan and all our brothers n sisters caught up in the bondage pornography creates when they are at their weakest, let them know your presence and help them to stay strong. Lord Jesus again I pray against the hold that internet based porn has on so many brothers and sisters in Christ, I pray against its hold in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, free these brothers and sisters from this bondage and let them know the purity of your love in all area's of their lifes, I ask this in your precious name Lord Jesus, Amen
