Original Prayer

Smoking

This addiction has been a stronghold for years and I would love to break free. There are three things that hold me back: 1- I enjoy it 2- withdrawal symptons- cravings 3- habits and routines, like wake up in the morning, before and after a meal, at break times at work etc please pray for me so that i can be set free from this. Love to you all. Steven X

Praise God Steven...

Before I pray I want to say this... I smoked heavily from the age of 13 until 5th April 2005 (I'm 44 now so you do the maths) Ive not smoked since and its the most cool and liberating thing in the world, now breaking addictions an't easy at the best of times, I was once addicted to heroin and trust me giving up smoking was harder. 1. I enjoy it? Do you really enjoy it or is it just a habit, can you remember when you first smoked a cigerette, it probably made you urg and cough, smoking is not a natural thing for the body to do, if you don't believe me, stand next to a bonfire thats really smokey and try and inhale the smoke. 2. Withdraw symptoms and cravings, ok this is the coolest thing, cravings generally last only a couple of minutes if that, and one way to overcome this is to fool your body by maybe sucking glucois tablets (lucasade or dextro sweets) sorry for dodgy spelling - or press ups or anothing that will take your mind off the cravings for a short while, cravings pass really quickly. Your withdraw sympoms can be managed with patches and either a nicorette inhalator or some like the gum, it only takes a few days to get over the physical addiction then its purly mental. 3. Routines, hey change them!!!! I used to sit in the pub with a nicorette inhalator in my mouth and sure everyone took the micky but it worked for me, try and change your patterns that you associate with smoking and finally its not un spiritual to get medical support along with prayer my friend. That said........................ Lord God our awesome Father in heaven I lift to you Steven and pray Father that you release him from this deadly addiction to cigerettes, break that hold in the name of Jesus that cigerette have in his life, free him from this addiction Lord Jesus now. Give him the strength to resist the tempation to smoke and show him Lord the benefits. I ask this in your awesome and Powerful name Lord Jesus Amen ps: Giving up smoking will: Stop you dying young of smoking related illness. Give you more strength and stamina. Make you smell nicer.............. and therefore More attractive to da ladies (if your single). Will make your skin look less grey and wrinkled. Put more money in your pocket, you could bless God and donate the money you save to God's work, maybe Crossrythms, pray about it. Brother I truly pray that you in God's strength win this battle with Smoking, as well as a youth worker I am also an NHS smoking cessation counsillor and am more than happy for Crossrythms to pass on to you my email address if you want support in giving up smoking, I will leave this in Heathers hands who moderates these rooms, failing that I can often be found lurking in the Crossrythms chat room, God bless you my friend and God strengthen you also.
