Original Prayer

I committed my life to the Lord so long ago, and i remain faithful in my heart. but my father walked out on me and my family about 2 months ago. i feel so lost, and i dont know who i am anymore. i am trying to follow you lord, but i find it so hard. my father in heaven will never leave me, but i cant feel his presence anymore.

Ami, my wife left me 1 week ago, taking our 4 children with her. I was bitter. I cried. I blamed. For something to do, I started tidying our house, sweeping all paper into drawers (which is my idea of tidying). Any mail I found was left unopened. Until one unmarked envelope by itself, which I felt I had to open. Inside I found the words of a song, a non-Christian song. But the words spoke to me as God would. 'Let me be the one you call. If you jump, I'll break your fall. Lift you up and fly away with you into the night. If you need to fall apart, I can mend your broken heart'. Just the act of being guided to this, and the full song made my heart lift and thank God for His presence. Some may say this is coincidence. But, in the strangest place, He came. Don't give up hope. As you say, He is with you, and just when and where you least expect, you will see his sign. Although I am 42, I have started reading the Youth Bible. The Life File Guides remind us how God moves in all of our lives, all of the time. I pray that you will recognise the signs He gives, and that your faith, like mine, is immeasurably strengthened by the tremendous hardship you face. God bless you, and continue to prtect you. I pray that you see the signs of His wonder, and that this you use His shield to defeat all doubts.
