Original Prayer

God I don't know what I've been doing for the last few years, and especially in the last few months, I don't know why instead of turning to you when I'm in need I've been turning to other things and other people before even considering you. No-one on Earth can even come close to you and I'm so sorry for wandering this far from you. I've put so many things above you I can't even see you in my life anymore. I love you God, or at least I want to love you again. Help me, I can't do this, all I can do is try to turn but it's so hard when I've been walking so long with you at a distance. Show me the way to go now God, please coem back into my life, help me see once again that you're God, life is rubbish without you

Hi. Will, just read your email today. I asked Jesus Christ into my life as a teenager a long time ago now, but over the years I fell away from what I truly believed in. Many years later it was like I woke up to reality and realised just how far away from God I was. I imagined it as road with a line down it and I had at some point stepped over that line, and gradually got further and further away from it and thought to myself that this was not where I wanted to be - I wanted to be back over the other side of that line, so I asked God for forgiveness for all the things I'd done that I knew were wrong and asked Him to help me turn myself around and back to Him. God knows your heart Will and He will be there for you as He was for me and all who turn to Him. He'll see you through the tough times - just take that first step. Seek out Christian friends and church connections and put your trust in your Lord and Saviour and He'll take it from there. It's amazing how God works - in mysterious ways - and if you're genuine and I believe you are He'll put people in place to help you. What fantastic words, I feel the same way too. It's so very hard to get back to God on my own and turn away from bad habits and distractions.
