Original Prayer

My youngest brother (40) and his wife are both alcoholics and don't believe it. Their son (10) is suffering shamelessly and is being abused mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. I have become tired of talking and praying-they are in such a mess for so long! Plse pray for all of us.

Dear Elaine, Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of GOD and of Jesus our Lord.(2 Peter 1 vs 2 niv version) Please realise you are not alone with this problem.I've lived through this my self with my eldest brother,he married twice,had 2 daughters from each marrage(=4 girls)and was a womaniser I had him many times live with me and my family to try and show him "Normal life". All the family tried to talk to him but as you must know, you think that all your words are wasted breath,please take heart that my brother turned to Jesus and tried and tried to cure him self but failed and died I beleive Jesus took him in his arms and lovingly took him to his father. I dearly,dearley pray for you as one who has lived and lost through this illness. "Restore us to yourself,O lord,that we return; renew our days as of old"(lam 5 vs21 niv). I'm sorry that there is no one simple answer to this illness,but there are many reasons we dont understand that cause it. Please may I encourage you and any one else who may be going through this to e-mail me and talk it through "Take off your sandles ;the place where you standing is holy ground"
