Comment: Many years ago I had The LP "Tennessee Songbook", Unfortunately I loaned it out and never got it back. I really would like to get a copy of that and other JD records. I met him once in a Working Men's Club. He was standing at the bar, alone and looking down. I went and asked him if he was going to do requests. He was rather curt and replied "I will be doing it later". I explained that I wasn't wanting "Last Train", but anything from "Tennessee Songbook" an started quoting the different songs on it. His attitude changed immediately. He was so glad to have found a proper admirer. He was on the stage with two young guitarists, who he billed as the Blue Grass Boys, but he said they were new, inexperienced and didn't know any of those tunes. However, he said he would check through and see if there was one where they ould know the chords. He duly obliged and I was elated when he performed a song for me and I knew I had made his evening.
