Comment:	Oh yes the CCM/ P & W machine grinds on. As a man who was proud to have been slagged in Melody Maker (mostly for being a Christian artist - Record Mirror loved it - but they didnt know - and neither did the Christian machine - with the exception of CR who interviewed us) I believe quite the thing that the Christian Record companies have been poor stewards of what they have been entrusted with. Being too keen to make artists into product. Secular companies are being found out on this, now perhaps its our turn. I would rather we had a few artists with a true prophetic edge and even 'normal' jobs - connecting live to people - than 200 career christian bands. Back in the 1970's Jesus Movement there were loads of bands - but it wasnt about money it was the love and the mission to share the Gospel ,we are not in this to lay up treasures on earth. Exterminate the Dove awards - There is only one awards ceremony that really counts!!
