Comment: Musicians like Mike are pretty much abused in the Christian world. I would count myself as one of them. Yes, we play for Jesus, first and foremost, but we are also people that need to pay gas bills, and the reluctance of some christian producers to help their players by actually pushing their names a bit is very sad. (My name was actually misspelled on one CD I did!) Many many more people should be exposed to music that glorifies God, yet we are unable somehow to present material that the 'world' considers worthy of its attention. I do need to say here that Mike Haughton is a beautiful player, who for me played thirty five seconds of pure heaven on an album by Trish Morgan, that was remaindered in a Church sale in New Zealand and bought by me for 20p!! Christian music needs to stop being just for Christians. It needs to step up to the mark as far as evangelising the world goes. Having said that, professional musicians who are also Christians need to start saying so a lot more. Calling something 'Worship' is not good enough - it is geared towards those who already know what it is. We need the spirit of a Keith Green to allow the power of God to move, and to be crazy for Jesus Christ!
