Article Title: Melody Green To Divorce

Comment: I see some are speculating Melody left the marriage because of pining for Keith... I doubt seriously that is the case knowing what I know about her passion for Christ. We do not know the circumstances which led to the separation and divorce, but what we need to remember is -- there are Biblical reasons for both actions... and yet the church keeps dismissing this truth, thereby treating marriage like an idol. Should a wife/husband turn a blind eye to unfaithfulness and/or patterns of serious sin in the spouse? After seeking counsel but seeing no desire for genuine repentance in an offending spouse, should the other pretend all is well when it is not?... Some would answer, "yes," but is that what scripture really teaches? Dishonesty is not what God called us to. Enabling sin, likewise, is not what we are called to. When we vowed to love, honor, and cherish our spouse that means sometimes love also must be tough... it must speak the truth or we are not loving well. Melody sought separation, not divorce. I trust she had a Biblical reason for it. Her husband is the one who ended the marriage.
