Comment: That was beautiful. I know that blog was probably years ago, but... I run a church for the Deaf, and wondered if there is one locally for Poppy to attend. Ours uses sign supported English, so words are signed and spoken at the same time. We have people with varing degrees of deafness, and it is accessible to all of them. The 10 year old boy who comes is loved and treated as "Family" by them all, even if they happen to be in their 80's (or younger !). They share a common outlook on the world and need to access their faith in a visual way. The Chaplain for the Deaf in your Diocese will have contact details for you, or there might be an independent church like ours. Rev. Jill Behenna, Deaf advisor to the Archbishop of Canterbury, will have details of chaplains and Deaf christian activities. She has signed at New Wine and is very supportive of meeting the needs of Deaf Christians. She runs a charity called "Signs of God" to teach clergy and interpreters Christian signs in BSL for their services. I hope this will be of encouragement to you. Regards, Julie
