Prayer Walking: 3. What Does Prayer Walking Do?

Prayer walking opens up a door of opportunity to hear and see promptings of Holy Spirit for further prayer pointers into your local area. Encountering your neighbourhood also enlarges your heart for the people and the region and therefore enlarges your vision for mission and evangelism.

Prayer walking is also invading satan’s territory, it means stepping on his toes and therefore spreading some light into your area, an area that is dark without you.

"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before all men, that they may see your good works and glory your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5: 14-16

Prayer walking inhabits our streets with righteousness:

"That there be no outcry in our streets."
Psalm 144: 14-15

Unless you walk the streets they are walked by, mostly, unrighteous people. Let’s break down the dividing walls between our churches and communities and prayer walk LIGHT, RIGHTEOUSNESS and LIFE into our streets!

Pray into:

marriages, families, parents, children, divorce and separation, violence and child abuse, young people, schools-good education, jobs, drug and alcohol abuse, crime, prospects for the future, homelessness, one Parent Families, stress, poverty, loneliness, elderly, health, apathy, loneliness, ill health, poverty.
