Hip-hop Christmas songs anyone? I'm not sure I really go for Sintax The Terrific's "Snow Day" despite its great line "I've got my long john's twisted" and the collected talents of Page One, Theory Hazit and MG! The Visionary can't make "We Three Kings" work. But then there's the huge talents of LA Symphony who sound great on "It's Christmas" and "Christmas Song" (thankfully not the chestnut roaster). And there are other good things here - the always reliable Scribbling Idiots have fun on "Jingle Bell Knock", the wonderfully named Caramel Skillington show plenty of invention on "Salvation's Army" and is that the long-disappeared singer/songwriter Elias I hear on "Maria"? Illect Recordings have come up with a tasty treat.
