This is the latest release from a four-man band with a new line up, from Atlanta, Georgia. Stickered as Grammy nominated and Dove Award winning. With echoes of Jars Of Clay, Counting Crows and at times even gentle REM, most of the songs are that sort of feel good American guitar-driven pop rock sound. The message is a positive one to match the musical tone. Great harmonies. Refreshing too that they're not afraid to mention Jesus in their songs. The kind of music that creeps up on you with repeated listens and gets the feet tapping. The single release "Truth Is Out" kicks off the album with a vengeance. There are though a number of changes in pace through the 10 tracks. "A New Beginning" offers the hope of a new life in Christ. The album ends in worship mode, climaxing on a high with the worshipful "Love So Divine", which works with its surprising use of thees and thous. The musicianship is high quality and pleasing to the ears. One moan about the packaging: the band have obviously spent a lot of time creating amusing credits, which are displayed in full glory, including a picture of the guy with the best whiskers in CCM! The lyrics however - they're so small that I can't read 'em - tell me it's an age thing!
