I was very pleased to discover that Blonde Vinyl have at last obtained some distribution in the UK as their material fills quite a gap in the spectrum of Christian music available today. This sampler is an excellent introduction to their catalogue containing thirteen tracks by thirteen different artists. Blonde Vinyl are firmly rooted in the "alternative" corner of rock music and this covers the whole range from dance/rave through guitar/bass driven indie on to heavy rock and all the way out to thrash/punk. Most of the artists were new to me and unfortunately the liner notes give precisely no details about bands, producers, etc which would have been greatly appreciated. There are some haunting female vocals to be tasted from Windy Lyre, Dancehouse Children and Acoustic Shack but, being a bit of a thrash-head, the highlights for me were Fluffy's "Excommunicated" and Lust Control's "Swimsuit Edition Wallpaper".
