Latin-phobics should not be put off by the title. This is a gentle but powerful collection of songs about living life 'Coram Deo' (in the presence of God), featuring the likes of Margaret Becker, Steven Curtis Chapman, Bob Carlisle, Steve Green, Out Of The Grey, CeCe Winans and Charlie Peacock. In addition to bringing his veteran production skills, Charlie Peacock also helped to write, play or sing on all of the tracks. (The idea of crediting the album to Charlie Peacock and friends would have been understandable were it not for the strong assembly of Christian musical talent also present.) The overlap of musicians and writers has helped to produce a harmonious sound, both in terms of music and theme. Some sultry sax and the acoustic guitar of Scott Dente add a little seasoning too. No ordinary album, the sleeve features a piece of scripture and a short devotion written by Douglas Kaine McKelyey for each track, helping to illuminate the central idea of us living our lives as acts of worship to our omniscient Lord. Inspirational!
