Anything on the Rounder label has Satisfaction Guaranteed stamped throughout, never a dull moment in 25 years. They are celebrating their 25th with two CD set retrospectives for each style they specialise in. The set before us now covers the highlights of many a great blues encounter. Gospel-infused tracks are to the fore. Outstanding examples include The Holmes Brothers "Up Above My Head" from their superb 'In The Spirit' album and a wonderfully brooding "Nobody Knows The Trouble I've Seen" from Charles Brown. The great Irma Thomas contributes "Tomorrow" and the acappella vocal group Persuasions do a fine job on the bass-led "My Jug And I". 30 tracks of timeless music, two CDs for less than one full price one. Bravo Rounder!
