An exciting and musically satisfying compilation of tracks leased from a variety of sources and pitched at record shop browsers and the growing legion of R&B-groovers who are realising that some of the best R&B around comes in 1994 via its birthplace, the Church. The tracks leased from Word will be known to many CR readers (Helen Baylor's "More Than A Friend", Fred Hammond's "Step By Step", Billy And Sarah Gaines' "Love's The Key", etc, etc) but there are other choice R&B gospel cuts here Joe Punter won't know like the wonderful "God In You" by Dawkins And Dawkins (how come Nelson Word didn't put their hot album out here?) or, my fave, the ex-lsley Brother Chris Jasper with a great "Thank You Jesus" leased from Gold City Records. Recommended.
