I'm convinced that Gotee Records are going to be a BIG success in their campaign to give the public Christian music with streetwise sensibilities. I'm also convinced that this album will do little to build their credibility. A live recording made at Nashville nightclub Blue Sky Court, it's a record of the label's launch to Joe Public and features mini-sets from Out Of Eden (2 songs), Christafari (2 songs), GRITS (2 songs) and Erace (1 song), linked with some acid/jazz funk doodles. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is languid rather than pumped up and although acid rappers GRITS give off a few sparks too much is dull. Also, taking a promo-man's intro speech and making it "funky" by repeating some phrases through a sampler might be a laugh at marketing meet but makes a dull opening track. Get the other Gotee albums but avoid this one.
