Well, here it is, the whacky funsters' follow-up compilation to the utterly marvellous 'Hamster Tracks', a showcase for the Christian bands in Hull. Destiny Calling weigh in with one number before returning on side two of the cassette as Curly Mogg (yep) and Red Heaven. Whitegold and Dark Horses have now merged to form the energetic Giants Will Fall, but fans of Geoff Allen, Tony Cooke and Layt need worry no longer -they're all still here. Tony Cooke seems to take over New Wine's position on this collection, providing the praise and worship material with a bouncy (almost Eurovision?) "High High High". It's really very good and would suit most congregations who like to raise their arms in the air. It had me smiling anyway. The best moments are provided by Giants Will Fall and Layt -"Oxygen" by GWF will obviously benefit from better production, and an even heavier feel but as an anthemic opener it's pretty good. The combined tlents of the two former groups are certainly working well. "I'm Only Human" is typical Ganney, no frills lyrics and hard-hitting chorus, you're cetain to get the message. Overall, Hull has another album underlining the variety, love and uniqueness which is keeping their scene strong. I have to say that 'Hamster Tracks' would still be my favourite of the two, but only just.
