The original thinking behind the Hosanna! Music series was to reap the 'songs already popular'. This concept of course could not last forever, particularly as there is a need for a tape bimonthly and because they are keen to use their own material. Looking through I see only about six out of 91 which fit the criteria of well known songs! This does mean that most of the contents of the book are new songs and unless you have an insatiable desire to learn and teach a song every Sunday or when you meet for worship, you are going to have trouble digesting all these songs! However, it underlines how we need to appreciate what wonderful resources we have in our nations and to really choose carefully the best songs for our situations. Good songs I would recommend are "Arise, Shine" (Rita Baloche/Jams Harvill), "Heavenly Father" (Chris Christensen), "Healing Grace" (John Chisum/Gary Sadler), "Blessed Be The Lord Almighty" (Chris Christensen) with one verse in french which blessed me because of my desire to see so much more done in the area of good translations!. Excellent presentation as usual with various indices
