I'm not sure of the origins of these recordings for this set, subtitled 'Twelve Songs For Church Toddler Groups', though judging from the rather dated sound of these perky pop arrangements I would guess that they've been pulled together from previously released recordings. They've been assembled to be a musical aide to Care For The Family's Playtime initiative, which supports church-based parent and toddler groups as they engage with their communities. Fair enough, and I might well pass on this CD to my church's group, particularly as there are some catchy songs like Nigel Hemming's "Shake My Shaker"; "I'm Gonna Clap My Hands" written by Vineyard's Mark Depledge; and "Wide, Wide As The Ocean" which I remember from my Sunday school days (which gives you an indication of just how old that one is). If you're looking for some jolly music which will convey messages like "Jesus Is My Best Friend", this is a pretty useful release.
