'Praise Beyond Words' is a collection of tracks from the long defunct Colours series of meditative/praise instrumental albums. Viewed at the original time of release as a Christian alternative to the likes of Windham Hill and other 'New Age' labels, such albums are regarded by many as passé. But good musicianship never goes out of fashion and with contributions from the likes of Tom Howard, Harlan Rogers, Smitty Price and the inimitable Phil Keaggy the playing is first class. Okay, so it's not the sort of stuff to set the world on fire, but, if the batteries are running low and you just can't face 'demanding' listening, you could do a lot worse than shoving this on the stereo. Of course the musos can always jam along and convince themselves they could do it better - but I doubt it somehow!
