Volume 14 of EMI CMG's seemingly never-ending series offers another showcase for a bunch of lesser known gospel rappers. The overall vibe is very streets and contemporary, mixing up beats and instrumentals with a range of MCs. The message is assertive and passionate for Jesus, as TCO flows from the top of the project on "I'm A Rida". The music ranges from rap/R&B crossovers like that on B The Messenger's "Understand" and Blaze Torch's "ThankYou" through to the minimalist vocal tunings of Triumph aka Warlord on "I Am What God Says I Am". More anthemic tunes explode into life like Godson's "What Would Jesus Do" while the rolling lyrical flow of Legion Of Souls on "We Made It" is another standout. The compilation ends with "Call Him Up" featuring Rain End Hard's laid back vocals as we're encouraged to connect with God. Not at strong as some of the previous volumes but still a useful indicator of the gospel hip-hop underground.
