The problem with all this Armageddon-talk is that it promotes a passive and irresponsible atttitude towards global warming, as well as other issues such as war and terrorism. If Jesus is going to come and sort it all out, why bother and do anything about it? - let's just concentrate on 'soul-winning'. More responsible eschatology focuses on the fact that Jesus is Lord of creation, and it is incumbent on us to exercise responsible stewardship now! Thank God a lot of evangelicals are taking this approach and not succumbing to revivalism and end-time speculations.

Hi John,
I fully agree with you! Lets rather concentrate on soul-winning. End-time prophecies etc, only creates confusion and sometimes even separation between children of God, whilst we are supposed to be ONE BODY in Christ. God Bless you!

Lawrence - Anyone one wanting to invent a figure to keep the masses in numb, servile submisison wouldn't have invented to profoundly revolutionary figure of Jesus that the church follows. Christians following Jesus preach that 'Jesus is Lord ', by implication stating that Caesar and every other such authority is subordinate to Him. Honestly, the modern day 'religion' of consumerism does a much better job of robbing people of their freedom.

I think I'd disagree about some of the biblical passages which are quoted here as assumed end-times prophecies.

As for Hathaway's views on the priorities of global warming - I've heard this argument an awful lot over the years in my job. But it's important to stress that the projected impacts of climate change on the poorest, least developed nations, amount to the biggest human tragedy in human history. Christian Aid project 180million environmental refugees by 2050 on the worst case scenario. This does not mean I don't or that we shouldn;t care about family values - but can we really afford to ignore the fate of millions of God's poeple simply because it's over a longer timescale
? PLease . . .

Revival is the greatest challenge to every believer ? Yes, we are in a spiritual battle to defeat the devil, win the lost for Christ, make the Name of Jesus glorious and triumphant in all the world with power and fire, receive a new anointing of power through the Holy Spirit and become men and women of action, in the Name of Jesus triumphing over every difficulty, living daily not by human power but by the Spirit of the Living God, walking in faith and waking up, rising up, to become a mighty army of prayer warriors, intercessors, financiers, helpers, armour-bearers. That is what revival is. Not a few gifted evangelists or preachers but the whole Church of God in action - on its knees - and on its feet! This is the answer - this will be the last revival!

Excellent David Hathaway. It is true that the world is revolting with sin such as terrorists, child abuse, cruelity, fraud, corruption, immorality and disunity infamily. It may be absolutely indicating ignorence of some who claiming the historic fact of Bible as a fairy tale and does not understand the purpose of Son of God Jesus Christ birth, crusification and reserection and His second comming. Who ever are not beliving required to read the Holy Scriptures prayerfully and seek guidence from Holy Spirit and they definetly get an answer.

Laurence, one day you will learn the TRUTH. but given your feelings, it's likely you will have waited too long to be saved. Just remember all of those who tried to reach you through articles, internet postings, etc., when you begin your eternity in hell.

I don't mean this in any mean spirited way, just trying to be direct and honest. If you sincerely attempt to study bible prophecy, it will all become clear to you.

I recommend that you read many of the prophecy related articles at www.gracethrufaith.com

Hi Believer in Christ,
I strongly agree with your point of view. - Just wanted to let you know that I feel exactly the same as you.
I pray that God will open Laurence's eyes before it is too late to turn back. To be forever in hell is not something to look forward to.
GOD BLESS YOU !

You must be Born Again to understand the story...that's the bottom line. There is great freedom in responsibility, even atheists know this. Atheists stay in line don't they? You don't need religion for that. You don't need religion period. My goodness, you don't see the governments letting the religions run them do you? Please, I think it's high time those that choose to think Jesus is a fairy tale, come up with a better argument then that. You make 'religionists' come up with reasons why, let's hear yours for real.

The only thing wrong about this fairy tale is that Jesus Christ is and always has been a myth, a fable introduced by those who wanted to start a religion to keep the masses in line. Jesus was not born, did not die and certainly is not coming back, now or ever.

Laurence - if you observe what is going on in the world (reality) and then correlate this with what the Bible says you may take a different viewpoint. You will find the Bible is speaking reality or truth.

LaurenceC - Just wanted to let you know that I'll be praying for you, and that your eyes be opened to the truth that is Jesus Christ. Regardless what you think, at the very least it's been proven that Jesus was born and lived over 2000 years ago. You simply need to read the 1st century Jewish historian Flavius Josephus. From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josephus He was definitely not an advocate of Christianity, yet he gives an account of the existence of Jesus. And the Jesus he mentions is the Jesus Christians follow. Also, as mentioned in the article by David Hathaway, there are 137 prophecies that were fulfilled by Jesus alone. Not to mention Israel becoming a nation again after over 2000 years (which has never happened in human history!) as prophesied by Ezekiel in the 37th chapter. Please don't close your heart off (and risk eternal damnation in hell) by rejecting Jesus. The very fact you've read this article today shows that God is making Himself available to you.....you just need to take the step of asking him into your life!

Historians and archeologists have proven that the existence of Jesus Christ was real. Google the name Anthony Flew, a brilliant philosopher and lifelong atheist turned believer in God. Research the life of C.S. Lewis, who set out to prove Christianity a fraud and became a believer. Do an honest research of the facts, with an open mind. I was an atheist for several years and felt just like you until I looked beyond the stock phrases and did some real reading.
I wish you well on your journey. God will show Himself to you when you are ready to sincerely seek Him!
