I have to confess I'm a sucker for old style gospel and soul from the '50s and '60s. There's something about the primitive recording techniques, the no frills instrumentation and the passionate vocals overriding everything that gets me every time. The work of Rev Tina brings back all of those feelings and her latest release does it again! And in the spirit of a true independent Redden writes all the songs and then plays all the instruments herself before adding that powerful voice over the top. She's a one woman gospel frenzy and as far away from the slick, manicured, watered down, over produced sanitised slosh that passes for a great deal of gospel music these days. Rev Tina Redden comes from the gospel moaning tradition where her soulfulness simply leaks out all over this CD! This is best illustrated on songs like the marvellous "God's Question" and the brilliant "Uh Oh" where she stretches from low moans to moments where she tips her head back and let's loose! Whilst the lo-fi qualities of the album are offset by her superb vocal performances, there are moments when I wonder what she would sound like with a bigger budget and a pile of anointed musicians as the drum machine on a song like "Ooh Wee" tires after a while. But these quibbles don't steal too much away from the overall enjoyment of the album.

Rev was at our church Gospel Fest, love Her singing. We were all blessed. Love how she says "sho nuff" all the time. The stroke did not slow her at all. She sung this album and quite a few off the other ones to. Good, old fashioned, down to the nitty gritty singng. We Love you Blessed are the feet that carry the Gospel. Keep carrying it sister. Stay in Good Health

I just saw a dvd of this young lady in concert. I was impressed because those there were white and black not just one or the other.

They all was enjoying the same God and the same Holy Ghost and praising the same Jesus.

Sort of like Acts 2 they were all with one accord. The music was good the vocals were outstanding. What more can I say except thank the Lord for the unity i saw.

this woman is blessed of God. She has a voice that comes along once in a long while. But where can this album be purchased at ? In NY private owners are trying to sell it for $39.99 and $44.99 (no lie; check it out thats crazy dude). Does any one know where it is being sold at for the reg price? Is she making anymore Cds? Why the incredible cost in New York. I tried looking in Indiana (artist is from there) any info helpful. I see it is not available at CR also. Anybody know anything I'd like to know.

Yes she is blessed by God. To have an extraordinary bundle of talents. I feel good to say I actually emailed the artist took a gamble so to speak, and whats more she actually e-mailed me back. She is working on several albums finishing up one as we spoke. Recently on a small tour in Africa. No Idea of the "incredible cost". Another Cable Special in Chicago Area soon. Check records stores nationwide also tammy you might want to input the album and artist name your searching for in url. It brought up quite a bit for me. God is good and the trinity is greatly to be praised.
