Jonathan Bellamy heard Ryan Cox's story.

Continued from page 2

Ryan: Definitely getting angrier. The older I got, the angrier I got and the more confused I got, which obviously affected the amount of drugs and alcohol I was taking. I was drinking and taking drugs on a daily basis. I started feeling the heartache as well then, because I was looking around and seeing normal families. I'd walk into town and see normal families having a laugh and a joke and all that sort of stuff and then I thought, "What's gone wrong with my life?" Things started to hit home a little bit then. So yeah, I kept on with the angry attitude. I was lost and didn't feel love and didn't love no-one, so the way I see it was I was born to die, so do what you want.

Jon: So you cared less and less about yourself?

Ryan: Definitely. I didn't care about myself, I was in self-destruct mode. I wanted to be with my sister at this point as well, because she was going through a bad time in the care system, but Social Services would not put us together. Praise God though, Kelly turned out alright. When we finally met each other again, she was living in a nice house in Lichfield, with beautiful foster parents that gave her the time and attention and loved her to bits.

Jon: At the age of 16 you got your first job. What did it mean to you?

Ryan: It felt great. It felt like going up in the world.

Jon: What was your job?

From Prison To Christ - Part 1

Ryan: Working in a butchers. They was good people and took me under their wing a bit, because the butchers was on the same estate as my family, so they obviously knew a little bit about us already.

Jon: And what was your job?

Ryan: Just cleaning and putting out meats. I enjoyed it, it was a good job. It's not what I wanted to do for a living though, my fascination is cars, I've worked in quite a few garages and that's been a good thing to get into.

Jon: What is it you like about cars?

Ryan: They're therapeutic. They're fascinating in how they work, how the engine works and all the driving.

Jon: So you got jobs working with cars, but were you still into crime at that time?

Ryan: Yeah.

Jon: Why couldn't you give the crime up?
