Mike: Why are you called Nu Life?

Dionne: The reason we're called Nu Life is that it marks the difference between our lifestyles in the past to how we are now that we have accepted Jesus as Saviour. The name marks that distinction and it also gives people hope - it's new and fresh and vibrant We stand for gospel music - telling people the message of Jesus Christ, and that's the gospel, and that he came and died for us and was resurrected. We want! the gospel that we sing about to come alive not just for us but for other people as welt Whatever we sing, there has to be a change in a life - that for us is gospel music, where there's a change in attitude for the better.

Mike: How did the group form?

Mary Ann: We've known each other for years. Estella and I used to go to Boys Brigade together - it was a mixed group. I know Dionne through my family - her aunt is married to my brother. We've probably known each otter for about 10 years although we've been singing as a group for about five."
Estella: We all sang in the youth choir. The church runs a talent contest every year called Teen Talent We entered when we were teenagers, we won, stayed together and kept singing. It all began in church events and concerts. As time went on, more doors were opened to festivals and places where people aren't Christians'.
Mary Ann: As well as churches, we do nightclubs, universities, open air events. We like playing where people don't know Christ. CR
