Maranatha! Music and Rocketown celebrate anniversaries

TWO OF America's Christian record labels, Maranatha! Music and Rocketown, are both celebrating anniversaries with anthology albums. Maranatha! was founded by "pastor to the hippies" Chuck Smith at Costa Mesa, California's Calvary Chapel in 1971. The company, which is today owned by Word Entertainment, is to release 'Maranatha! Anthology: The Artists 1971-2001', a double album featuring such acts as Love Song, Daniel Amos, Sweet Comfort Band and Leslie Phillips. Maranatha! are also releasing a double album, '30 Years Of Hope', focusing on their pioneering worship recordings.

Rocketown, formed five years ago by Michael W Smith and the singer's A&R director at Reunion Records, Don Donahue, are releasing 'Rocketown Records: 5', featuring 12 tracks from artists like Chris Rice, Watermark and Ginny Owens.
