Devon Air to take Cross Rhythms radio programme The Sunday Experience.

THE LATEST developments in the plans for Cross Rhythms magazine to establish Cross Rhythms radio programmes in various parts of the country (see CR 5 and 6) have moved into a new phase.

ILR Station Devon Air, with a catchment area of most of Devon and East Cornwall, have agreed in principal to take the Cross Rhythms' contemporary Christian music programme.

The presenter for the programme, Chris Cole, sees this as a natural progression to his existing programme The Sunday Experience broadcast on Plymouth Sound, a station to be absorbed by Devon Air.

Funding for the airtime costs, an estimated 10,000, is to come from local churches. Says Cole, "I'm already very encouraged by the response from Devon Churches to the Cross Rhythms radio vision. There's work to be done but I feel confident, in faith, that money will come through from churches as they recognise the media opportunities now opening to broadcast the gospel through the vehicle of contemporary music." CR
