European Country Gospel Music Association forms

THE UK's growing number of country gospel artists have formed the European Country Gospel Music Association in a recent conference at Stoke-on-Trent. The conference, in June, brought together bands and solo artists of various shades of country music amidst enthusiasm to work together to promote this increasingly popular style of music and to encourage those ministering in this medium.

Martin Mackenzie, who presents The Country Music Box programme on UCB Europe, has been elected president of the Association. Said Martin, "I am delighted that now country gospel singers and musicians have the opportunity to work together more closely and have a support base which will foster even greater interest in country gospel." CR
