24-Hour Channel

THE CHRISTIAN Channel Europe has been the first to be launched in Britain 24 hours
Britain's first 24-hour Christian TV multi-channel service has been successfully launched by Christian Channel Europe. The digital service, called The Dream Family Network, commenced broadcasting on October 1 St. Alongside Christian teaching and preaching, the service offers news programmes, travel programmes, children's broadcasting, documentaries and music programmes, the latter including a Cross Rhythms contemporary Christian music programme featuring videos and live music guests presented by Chris Cole.

As well as four 24-hour TV stations, there will be five digital radio stations which will include The Dream, UCB Europe, Cross Rhythms and The Bible Channel, which will play the Bible continuously.

The Network is available on subscription. Until the end of December, a dish and digital box are being offered free of charge, worth at least £120, to all who sign up (there may be a small fee for erecting the dish). Potential subscribers are being asked to call the subscription number and pay an admin fee of £30. They will then receive digital box equipment ready to switch on. The monthly cost will be £12.99.

A deal has also been signed with Sky TV for a service which will be called God On Digital. These programmes will be produced with those in mind who are not yet Christians. Research has proved that those who are not yet Christians like the name God Channel, so TV on Sky will continue under this banner. CR
