Pop hitmakers the Dum Dums call it a day

MAINSTREAM pop rock band the Dum Dums disbanded after their appearance at the Greenbelt Festival. In an open letter to fans posted on their website, Josh Doyle of the Dum Dums announced that the band have achieved their aims of playing Wembley Stadium and touring the world, and that after four top 40 singles they've decided to call it a day.

Lead singer Josh Doyle has announced his new plans, "I am starting a new project and I would prefer to have believers onboard it. It will be alternative rock, in the vein of the Strokes, Radiohead and At The Drive In, along with early U2 leanings. I have a mainstream recording contract, a major publishing deal, management and a really good shot of success, since I have already started to get my foot in the door." Christian musicians interested in joining Doyle's new band are asked to submit demos to Box NM706, NME, Room 135, Kings Reach Tower, Stamford Street, London SE1 9LS.
