Kevin, I will pray for you and your wife. Even though you are divorced in mans laws, I will pray for reconciliation and a miracle between you both. With JESUS nothing is impossible. I pray that your faith and hope in the Lord JESUS grows stronger as a couple, and flourish to your children. JESUS is coming soon, and I hope and pray that you be hidden in Christ and shielded and protected by the Lord through trials, persecutions ,temptations, and tribulations. Yes sin leads to death, but their is non righteous no not one. We have all fallen short of the glory of GOD, yet its not an excuse for us to continue to sin as believers and taking the grace of GOD as a form of liberality. GOD loves us so much he said we can confess our sins and HE is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse of all unrighteousness. Seek the Kingdom of GOD first and His righteousness and all things will be added to you, weather in this life or next. Sometimes GODs people do suffer much in this life, but the Joy of the Lord is our strength and the hope of eternal life with our beloveth Savior. Look up and be encouraged Kevin, be holy and consecrate and sanctify yourself in prayer fasting meditating in the word of GOD and pray for your wife and her salvation. May the Lord JESUS be your strength in these times of dissapointments and give you peace and hope as you put your trust in HIM and Serve JESUS with all your heart, body, mind and soal. PEACE

I love Kevin's music and voice. He is a great musician. But he is still a man and needs to be saved. I have a terrible relationship with my wife and our christian counselors have even suggested divorce or separation. We are more than struggling....But we are trying. Kevin...be a man and honor God ,Marriage and His Word..We are all accountable before Him.

God hates divorce, absolutely. Sure the breakdown in relationship makes him very sad. But look at it this way, divorce comes at the end of a spiralling process, for which at the end, however awful, unless there is an equal commitment on both sides to making it work, becomes the inevitable conclusion. It is not fair to blame Kevin like some of you people who comment do. She was the one who wanted 'out' anyway, but even then do any of us really know the painful ins and outs, sufficently to JUDGE? We have NO BUSINESS JUDGING AT ALL! And as if both of them did not suffer enough greif and pain through the process! Kevin has been very upfront about his weaknesses. Hello people!!! Where is the Christian compassion? God has now blessed Kevin with a much happier second marriage , lovely children and what seems, apparently a deeper relationship with the Lord which is testemony to the fact that He is the God of second chances with a love that is undending and abounding in GRACE. When things go wrong in someone's relationship we are in NO position to judge. That is between them and the Lord. May the Lord bless Kevin, Amanda and family, the Lord who makes all things new. God bless Alana also.

Wow. The unbelievable pain of divorce coupled with the judgment of man. Imagine how these people must feel if they were to stumble across these attempts at deconstructing that of which you know nothing. I'm curious to see the thread that rips Amy Grant and Vince Gill into little tiny pieces. Please, love instead.

I know this is a few years old, but it grieves me to see the angry comments that some Christians have left for a fellow brother. Yes, the Bible does teach that marriage is forever and divorce is going against God's design for sexuality, but I would direct all of you who jump down his throat to read John 8:1-11. This woman brought before Jesus was caught in adultery, for which the penalty (given by God in the Jewish law) was death. Jesus—God—refused to condemn her and told her accusers that they were just as guilty and deserving of death as she. Then he told her to go and leave her life of sin.

If we apply this very similar story to Kevin's life, and respond as the Son of God responded, then no one has any justification for judging. Jesus did point out her sin, but He did not punish her, He just told her to live from that moment on a life that would honor God. We would say to Kevin, "Brother, I am terribly grieved over your divorce. It is a tragedy, as you most certainly know. It is a sin, but our loving Father is faithful to forgive, and we can rejoice together in that. I will be praying for you and Amanda that God will bless your marriage and life together."

I am married and have been recently through a rough time with my spouse. In this instance we have both backslid and have been strugling. We have both cheated on each other. But have realized that what we have done is wrong, we have sinned against God and each other. We have forgiven each other and asked God to forgive us also. We have worked out are problems and are back on the right path without divorsing. Even Christians and Christian marriages can have issues. That is why we have a forgiving God who can help us back to the right path. Me and my spouse are still together working our marriage out with God's help. If I can do this with my spouse why can't Kevin. My family lives in an apartment with not much money. Kevin has been blessed. He has placed himself in the spotlight and therefore is suppose to be an example for other Christians. I am disappointed and will keep him in my prayers. God does not bless sin. Maybe that's why Kevin's albums after Dc Talk have not done so well...

Al ot you amaze me. It is no wonder that people are fleeing the Church at an astronomical rate. People no longer trust other "Christians" (and I use that term loosely). Why would anyone choose to join a group or sect that they know will turn on them at the fist sign of trouble?

Kevin made mistakes. Whether it is sin is not OUR concern. That is between Kevin, Allana, and God. You were not in the midst of the turmoil and you certainly were not at the altar next to them. Allow them to work through this without condemnation.

Consider with whom Jesus actually walked. It was not the "religious leaders" but instead it was those that were outcasts and misunderstood.

I do not question your hearts. I truly believe that many of you feel you are doing the right thing by scripturally picking apart his sins one by one. I suppose that is the nature of being "enlightened". However, what each of fails to realize is that he too is a human trying to make it in a corrupt world. I do not see a message board digging through your closets while you are on here picking through his.

I am very disappointed by many on here. I am sure that I will be told that I am allowing "sin" to prevail--that seems the new mantra of this new generation of Pharisees. By throwing stones, you are no better than today's media. Jesus had but one way of dealing with sinners--love. I would give that a shot. You may be amazed (pun intended) at the results.

all of you are hypocrites , and you're the exact reason(s) of why I left the church. maybe if you didn't take every word of the Bible so literally, the world wouldn't be so messed up and your holy attitudes wouldn't cause those who are searching for true faith to tumble into despair.
You know what God must hate even more than divorce? people who use his name to further their own complexes of superiority and judgement. wake up, people, you're actually pushing people AWAY from christendom. successfully.

I agree that God forgives sin but he also says that he hates divorce. I would not like to do anything that God hates intentionally and divorce is intentional. I also do not think that divorce is in God's plan for anyone so don't try and take away your guilt with saying that it is fine!
