AFTER FOUR years American singer Michael English has returned to Christian music. In May 1994, a week after winning six Dove Awards, English made worldwide headlines when he admitted to an extra-marital affair with former First Call member Marabeth Jordan and announced he would no longer perform Christian music. English subsequently entered mainstream music with Curb Records. Said English in a recent interview. "A lot of people are probably saying I'm doing a Christian album because I need the money or I wasn't successful in pop. Both of these things are wrong. I had a number one single - and normally that doesn't happen on a first record for a pop singer." Explaining his move the 35-year-old singer said he "felt a tugging to go back in and do what I know God has called me to do." CR
