New licensing arrangement has been established by CCLE with regards to music performed in churches

CHRISTIAN Copyright Licensing (Europe) Ltd (CCLE) and the Performing Right Society (PRS) have announced a new licensing arrangement for copyright music performed in churches. The PRS Church Licence has been created to facilitate some of the copyright obligations of churches and so reward writers and publishers of the music which is performed in churches (and other premises for which churches are responsible). This new licence will be administered by CCLE on PRS' behalf. CCLE has been issuing its annual Church Copyright Licence to churches and Christian organisations since 1991 and more recently the Music Reproduction Licence enabling the photocopying of a broad catalogue of music and lyrics from a wide range of music books. It has more than 17,700 churches and Christian organisations within its licence schemes and has a proven survey process. CR
