Blanchard and Lucarini's book Can We Rock The Gospel? causing controversy
A NEW book by British author John Blanchard and American Dan Lucarini, Can We Rock The Gospel?, has been published in the UK by Evangelical Press. Blanchard created a furore in 1983 for his book attacking Christian involvement in contemporary music, Pop Goes The Gospel. In the new book the authors claim that the use of rock music in churches is harmful and unbiblical.
The opinions expressed in this article are not necessarily those held by Cross Rhythms. Any expressed views were accurate at the time of publishing but may or may not reflect the views of the individuals concerned at a later date.
I see that The Evangelical Press has put out a revised edition (and I quote) -
"This book is an attempt to take a calm, balanced, thorough and biblical look at the whole subject of what has been called 'entertainment evangelism'."
In view of the furore that the book originally caused back in the '80s, might it be opportune for a review of the revised PGTG, as well as CWRTG?
