Artist goes to court

SUCCESSFUL artist Tonex is being sued by his record label Zomba/Verity Records. The situation has come around after the award winning gospel artist complained via his website of the unfair treatment received from the record label. Tonex specifically alleged the company engaged in unfair business practises, including its failure to completely and accurately account and pay the artist monies owed over the last several years. The lawsuit which is set to be worth over $1 million, will be strongly contested by Tonex. The singer, songwriter and producer said, "This is not about me, I represent every artist that has been mistreated by the music industry." Tonex is appealing to his fans to offset his legal costs.
