Launch of new music label

KINGSWAY MUSIC have announced a tie-up with Soul Survivor festival and magazine to launch a new label Survivor Records. The first release on the new label will be 'Because Of You' by Paul Oakley, worship leader of Church Of Christ The King, Brighton, best known for worship songs popularised at the Stoneleigh festival such as "Let It Rain" and "I Stand Amazed". Other releases will be the new album (not EP as originally planned) by Matt Redman, the worship leader who has risen to popularity at the New Wine and Soul Survivor events, and the new Soul Survivor live praise album 'A Louder Shout'.

Said Kingsway's head of music publishing Stuart Townend, "The concept of the Survivor label is as a youth worship label. Too many people still think of 'praise and worship' as a rather middle of the road musical style and Survivor will break down a lot of those stereotypes. Paul's music has traces of '60's R&B and '90's Brit pop and is an entirely fresh genre for worship while, as most people know, Matt has helped pioneer new musical approaches to the worship ministry. The label won't be limited only to ministries linked to the Soul Survivor event but will rather be a platform to explore new styles being used to worship God."
