Brother Roger, the founder of Taize Community, murdered in knife attack.

THE 90 YEAR OLD founder of the French religious Taize Community recognised internationally for its sacred music, Robert Louis Schutz-Marsauche, known as Brother Roger, was murdered in August. French police said Brother Roger was attacked with a knife during the August 16th service attended by 2,500 young people at the Church Of Reconciliation in Taize. A 36 year old Romanian woman, whom police called "mentally disturbed," is being held by the police. The Taize Community south east of Paris attracts tens of thousands of Christians from around the world for spiritual reflection and prayer.
