Reviewed by Gareth Hills Byron's 'Faithful To Believe' album was released in 2009, and this live DVD of the recording followed several months later. Performed on 13th March 2009, Byron presents an eclectic mix of funky gospel jams, such as "I Give You Praise" and "I Can't Hold It", matched with contemplative ballads, including "He Will Answer". Musically, the band are tighter than the lid of a jam jar, with the drummer starring as the band offer some impressive grooves. However, what is less enticing is the plethora of accolades given to Mr Cage as he took the stage; these seem completely OTT in what is meant to be a time of worship. Having said that, Byron certainly exhorts the flock to praise God. Production-wise, I thought the camera work could have been slightly better, as it felt a little static at times, in contrast with the energy of the performance. A bigger problem was the audio track going out of sync with the visual images on occasion. But aside from these points, and the unfortunate self-promotion I mentioned earlier, 'Faithful to Believe' captures an energetic performance from a talented, veteran gospel leader.
